The occurrence of road closures/detours and the loss of surface parking spaces during summer construction will impact daily travel and may create a ripple effect in other areas of campus as customers use alternate roadways or relocate to new parking areas.
During this time, motorists should anticipate traffic delays and are encouraged to plan accordingly to reduce frustration.
While a complete list of known projects and map of each location can be found at http://tp.osu.edu/alerts/summerconstruction.shtml, we’d like to call your attention to a few projects that may result in significant traffic delays:
State Route 315 construction, beginning Monday (6/15), is expected to generate heavy traffic along Kenny Road, Olentangy River Road, High Street, Lane Avenue and possibly Woody Hayes Drive. More information on this project can be found at http://www.buckeyetraffic.org/315. The Ohio Department of Transportation also will be staffing a telephone line throughout the construction: (740) 833-8268.
A campus Utilities Expansion Project will close Tuttle Park Place at Woody Hayes Drive on Monday (6/15). This phase is a continuation of the work that has been ongoing along Woodruff for the past several months.
Cannon Drive between Woody Hayes and Herrick Drive will be closed to all traffic for approximately 24-36 hours beginning at 8 p.m. Sunday (6/14). Parking access to the lot between the Lincoln and Morrill Towers and the Drake will not be available during this time. Cannon should reopen to through traffic by 6 a.m. Tuesday (6/16). Beginning Tuesday, traffic will be maintained but lanes will be restricted through Wednesday (6/17) at 6 p.m.
Fyffe Road between Lane Avenue and Woody Hayes Drive will be impacted for approximately one week for a resurfacing project, beginning Monday (6/15). Traffic will be maintained, but lanes will be restricted.
Fyffe Court, south of Woody Hayes will be closed to traffic beginning at 6 p.m. Monday (6/15). This closure will last for approximately three days.
Cannon Drive and 12th Avenue – Utility projects in the Medical Center area of campus will result in lane restrictions along Cannon and 12th Avenue throughout the summer.
College Road will be impacted by a utility and repaving project this summer, resulting in lane restrictions.
