New Vendor Policy At The OSU Medical Center
The Ohio State University Medical Center announced it’s new VendorInteractionPolicy today.
This policy will guide the interactions that all Medical Center faculty, staff and students have with vendor corporations and their representatives by providing acceptable business practices and ethical principles to guide those relationships.
The policy addresses gifts, meals, vendor-sponsored events, consulting arrangements, promotional materials, samples and conflicts of interest.
This topic is becoming a hot-button as government look to retool health-care nationwide. The New York Times recently wrote this article highlighting what the State of Vermont has done to create transparency in the vendor/hospital relationship.
